About the firm

A small firm of arborists who prefer old trees

Briseno Arborists is three ISA Certified Arborists who work on the old lots of Savannah and the islands.

Leandro Briseno started the firm after climbing for larger companies, because he wanted to write down what he found and cut less. Zaria Hooks and Elian Heredia work beside him on every job. There is no sales crew: the person who walks your lot is the person who writes the report.

  • Three arborists, one crew

  • A written report for every assessment

  • City approval checked before the first cut

The arborists

Who walks your lot

All three hold ISA Certified Arborist credentials, and you can ask for any of their numbers.

  • Leandro Briseno, an arborist in a green helmet and climbing harness, working at the trunk of a large oak

    Leandro Briseno

    Owner and ISA Certified Arborist

Writes the reports and leads the climbing. He would rather talk you out of a cut than into one.

  • An arborist wraps a measuring tape around a tree trunk

    Zaria Hooks

    ISA Certified Arborist

Does the measuring, the soil and root checks, and the plans for contractors working near a tree.

  • An arborist in an orange shirt and helmet prunes a branch with a hand saw

    Elian Heredia

    ISA Certified Arborist

Climbs and prunes, and rigs the limbs that have to come down over a roof or a wall.

How we work

Read first, cut less, write it down

  • Read the tree first

Crown, trunk, roots and soil, before anyone clips a branch.

  • Cut less

Every cut is a wound. We make the fewest that do the job.

  • Write it down

A report you can keep, hand to a contractor, or show the next owner.
